At Springburn, we provide a nurturing, fun and stimulating experience in a natural environment. Thinking outside of the box from traditional childcare settings, our purpose built building and regimes in place have been designed wholly from a child’s perspective;
Springburn childcare is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty and is surrounded by open countryside. This enables the children regular access to fresh air, to explore their natural surroundings and through hands-on learning, develop into confident and resilient learners.
Built by us and made entirely from wood, our building provides natural warmth and a home from home feel. Floor to ceiling windows ensures children can always see what is going on in the world around them and receive lots of light throughout the day. Each room has its own age-appropriate garden ensuring regular access to the outside world.
Our toys are made from objects that are found in nature to encourage the children to explore the outdoor world. The experiences include building camps, log climbing areas and a natural sensory garden. The children can investigate the wildlife areas learning about insect habitats, ladybird houses and keeping a special eye on the bird box which has a camera fitted. Through exploring, problem-solving and hands-on learning experiences, children can become confident and resilient learners.
The children grow fresh fruit and vegetables, they learn about the growing cycle and we instill the importance of healthy eating. Menus are created seasonally by our inhouse chef and always take into account our own grown produce. See our healthy nursery foods for more information.
Security at Springburn is paramount. The Nursery has a secure entrance and all visitors and parents have to go through the security system for access. We operate a password system for third party collection and all children have to be signed in and out.
